HOMELESS SUPPORT
Every individual deserves safety, dignity, and access to basic necessities. At UBUMWE CHARITIES, we are committed to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness by addressing both their immediate needs and long-term well-being.
Homelessness often results from complex challenges such as economic hardship, family breakdown, health crises, natural disasters, or displacement. Without timely support, these challenges can deepen vulnerability and limit opportunities for recovery and reintegration.
Our Focus Areas
- General Health & Basic Needs Support; Nutritious food distribution and meal programs, Access to clean water and hygiene supplies, Public health awareness and preventive care education, Mental health counseling and emotional support services in order to ensure that individuals facing homelessness receive proper nutrition, health guidance, and psychological support. By addressing both physical and mental health, we help restore stability and dignity.
- Crisis Intervention & Emergency Assistance; Rapid response during natural disasters and emergencies, Temporary shelter coordination and safe relocation, Distribution of clothing and essential supplies, Immediate rescue and protection support for vulnerable individuals in times of crisis, quick and compassionate action is critical. We provide emergency assistance to help individuals move from unsafe conditions toward safety and recovery.

REFUGEE SUPPORT
Displacement can strip individuals and families of safety, stability, and a sense of belonging. We are committed to supporting refugees as they transition from crisis to recovery, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and renewed hope.
Refugees often flee conflict, persecution, natural disasters, or severe instability. In many cases, they arrive in unfamiliar environments without resources, documentation, or support systems. Our role is to provide compassionate assistance that promotes safety, integration, and long-term resilience.
Our Focus Areas
Rescue & Safe Relocation;Emergency rescue coordination and protection services, Safe relocation and temporary shelter assistance, Distribution of essential supplies and basic necessities, Support during transit and initial settlement. We work to ensure that individuals and families escaping dangerous conditions reach safety as quickly as possible and receive immediate protection and care.
Education & Integration; Access to educational programs for children and youth; Language and skills development support, School enrollment assistance, Career guidance and vocational orientation. Since education is key to rebuilding independence and restoring opportunity. We help refugee children continue their learning and support adults in developing skills that promote self-sufficiency.
Family Reunification & Counseling; Assistance in tracing and reconnecting separated family members, Support with documentation and reunification processes, Trauma-informed counseling and emotional support services, Community support networks for social integration. Family unity plays a critical role in emotional stability and recovery. Through counseling and reunification support, we help restore hope and strengthen resilience.
